In honor of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, Tennessee Tech CyberEagles CyberSecurity club in association with the Cybersecurity Education, Research and Outreach Center will be hosting a cybersecurity awareness and training seminar open to all Tennessee Tech Faculty and Staff. This free event will be held in Prescott 215 on Thursday, Oct. 27, from 11 a.m. until noon.
Attendees can learn about tips and resources to conduct activities online (work and personal) and stay safe while surfing the net. The event will provide resources for you, your peers and your family about Cyber Safety.
Per Deb Zsigalov, chief information security officer, attendance to this event can serve as the university cybersecurity training credit for the 2016-17 academic year. A sign-in sheet will be available at the end of the training for those wishing to take advantage of this credit opportunity. Participants must sign this sheet at the conclusion of the awareness training to get credit. There will also be a drawing for a door prize at the conclusion of the program.
Donations will be accepted at the door to help support training activities for more than 100 students in our cybersecurity club. There is limited seating capacity. Although walk-ins are allowed, everyone is encouraged to sign up for the event tickets online as soon as possible by noon on Oct. 26, so that we can plan ahead.
