Frederick Kennedy will present a Faculty Voice Recital on October 27, in Wattenbarger Auditorium at the Bryan Fine Arts Building. The program will begin at 7:30 pm.
The program will consist of a variety of musical styles and periods. Works performed will be arias by Georg F. Händel and Giuseppi Verdi from Alessandro and La Traviata respectively. Also featured will be the twentieth century composition, ArtSongs, by Stephen Paulus. The composition combines the visual arts through twentieth poetry, which is used as texts for Paulus’ song cycle.
Other works on the program include some of the songs from Claude Debussy’s Prose Lyrics and songs by Vincenzo Bellini. Kennedy will conclude the program with a group of familiar Negro Spirituals.
Admission is free.
