Maddux/McCord residence halls are the latest to undergo complete renovation. The buildings will be closed for 2016-2017 and are expected to reopen for occupancy at the start of the 2017-2018 academic year.

A new concrete floor isĀ installed in the breezeway of Maddux/McCord, which will be the new lobby for the building once enclosed. The floor had to be raised about two feet in order to match the level of the existing floors.

The project, overseen by the university’s Capital Projects office, will see the following improvements:

  • Enclosure of breezeway to create new interior space
  • New Living Learning Village classroom
  • New roof
  • New HVAC and plumbing systems
  • New furnishings, lighting, and wall and floor finishes

Jobe/Murphy were the latest residence halls to undergo renovation, and the Maddux/McCord project will be similar in its outcome.
